Community Land Trust Model

Often used to create and sustain affordable housing, the community land trust model is a powerful tool that protects historic buildings, increases housing options for individuals and families, and helps stabilize real estate in hot markets.

Townsite Community Land Trust, Flagstaff, Arizona

The TCLT was founded by neighbors and preservationists concerned about the demolition of historic homes and the increasing lack of affordable homes in the city. This model allows TCLT to mitigate market forces and save smaller buildings from demolition while providing permanently affordable homes.
