What should historic preservation’s tagline / slogan be?
As we begin the United States’ 250th anniversary year, we are crowdsourcing a tagline / slogan to communicate to the general public the value of preserving America’s historic places and history. We need your help and want to hear from you! We’re looking for a memorable 3-to-5-word message that can be used and shared by organizations and individuals in communities across the country and communicates why historic places and history are important to our nation. We need your creative suggestions and your votes for the taglines / slogans you think will be effective and catchy. Submit your suggestions, choose your favorites, and share with your networks today!
Voting ends February 15, 2026. Everyone who makes a suggestion (and shares their contact information) will be entered in a drawing to win a preservation-themed prize.
By submitting an idea, you are granting permission for your tagline / slogan to be used freely in the public domain.
This effort is being spearheaded by nonprofit historic preservation and history organizations across the United States, including:
National Alliance of Preservation Commissions
The National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers
National Preservation Partners Network
National Trust for Historic Preservation
Society for Industrial Archeology
Does your organization want to join this effort and spread the word to your supporters? Let us know and we’ll add your organization to the list. Send an email to info@prespartners.org to be added.
