Partners gathered in New Orleans for our Fall Convening in October 2025, in partnership with the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The event offered opportunities for networking with colleagues from across the country and learning about the latest trends and challenges in our field.

Connect & Network

The National Preservation Partners Network offers a variety of programs, affinity groups gatherings, and retreats throughout the year. Our aim is to provide historic preservation organizations with training, tools, and peer support so they can focus on their missions. Members have access to even more content. Not a member? It’s easy to join.

Affinity Groups

Don’t go it alone.

Members are eligible to join any of the Affinity Groups that are available. All staff of organizational members are welcome. Typically the groups meet quarterly or monthly for an hour via Zoom. The groups are an opportunity for colleagues with common interests to have a conversation.

Mentorship Program

NPPN is committed to supporting and growing the next generation of leaders in historic preservation. The Mentorship Program is a peer support program that brings together an experienced executive director with a new or emerging executive director.

A new executive director is one who is in their first three years on the job. An emerging executive director is someone working in historic preservation who is seriously considering, or being considered for, the role of executive director in the next few years.

The program matches a Mentor with a Mentee for a period of twelve months, running the calendar year, but you can apply at any time during the year for the upcoming session. Download the full program description here.

This program is generously supported by:

The 1772 Foundation and the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation
